WHY IS INSURANCE NOT ACCEPTED?
Insurance is just too limiting from our perspective. Companies put limits, maximums, and denials on the speech therapy you need. We work directly for you, as your personal speech therapists. Our interests are not guided by prequalifications, quotas, insurance denials or any other arbitrary reason.
We feel that if you want and need speech therapy, you should be able to access it on your own terms.
HOW DOES PRIVATE PAY WORK?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, FSA/HSA, and can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you have out of network coverage. Some employers can pay for employees to undertake public speaking or accent modification training!

WHAT IS A SUPERBILL?
Even though we do not work with insurance, we can provide a SUPERBILL- which is an itemized list of charges for you to submit to your insurance. They may be able to reimburse you directly if you have out of network coverage. Note: additional hourly rates will apply if you ask us to contact insurance on your behalf.
DOES VIRTUAL SPEECH THERAPY WORK?
YES! There are numerous research studies to prove it, approval from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and years of anecdotal evidence and awesome reviews that support the claim that virtual speech therapy works just as well (sometimes even better!) than in person.
DOES WORDWISE DO IN PERSON APPOINTMENTS?
On an extremely limited case-by-case basis. In person speech therapy is a customized process and pricing varies depending on the case. Our clinic is located in Deer Park, NY. Home visits within the geographic region are accepted on a case-by-case basis. We are predominantly offering online speech therapy.

WHAT IS ONLINE SPEECH THERAPY?
You might hear the term online speech therapy, virtual speech therapy, tele speech therapy, telepractice, or remote speech therapy. They can all be used interchangeably to describe speech therapy that is delivered via Zoom or another online platform. Online speech therapy works amazingly for most people. The benefits are: no travel time, no travel costs, no waiting rooms, no health concerns, no vaccination requirements, and no stress. We are committed to providing affordable, accessible speech therapy and virtual speech therapy is the best way to keep costs down, and help more people! We love it, you will too.
HOW DOES ONLINE SPEECH THERAPY WORK?
We use ZOOM platforms. That is all you need besides an internet connection. Bring speech therapy anywhere you go. Turn your living room into a classroom. We encourage parent involvement, and love that virtual speech therapy allows parents to be active participants in their child's speech therapy progress.
HOW LONG DOES SPEECH THERAPY TAKE?
That is tough to say! Everyone learns differently, some disorders are more complex than others, and some children learn at a different pace. At minimum- 3 months. On average 6-9 months. For complex disorders such as apraxia, it is common to need lifelong speech therapy. We are here for you every step of the way, and you can cancel services at any time- no questions asked.
